Pia spent over two decades traveling to the fashion capitals of the world working with the fashion industry’s most prestigious designers. She scoured the foothills of Tuscany, pounded the pavement on 7th Avenue in New York City, and attended the high-profile Couture shows in Paris including Dior, Chanel, Valentino, and Lanvin. Whether it be discovering the latest designer, spotting a major trend or understanding the innovation of a new proportion, her keen eye and broad-based knowledge of women’s apparel is evident.
As Nordstrom’s National Merchandise Manager of Couture and Couture Director, she was responsible for the top-level designer business, including merchandise selection, advertising, sales promotion, and special events. She built long-standing relationships in the Designer market, and deftly touched clients throughout the country with the ability to enhance their own personal style. Pia’s favorite part of the fashion business has always been interpreting the glamour of the runway for a select few clients that she styles personally. Hence, piastyle.
Pia is married to filmmaker/screenwriter John Jacobsen and they have three boys. She enjoys her annual family vacations in Provence and Nantucket. Besides being a determined cook and ho-hum tennis player with really cute outfits, she loves doting on her girly dog, Flirt.
Pia co-founded Make The Evening Matter, an annual benefit starring Steve Tyrell, and Honorary Chairperson Katie Couric, to support colorectal cancer research, awareness and patient care.
